We believe this is a Tersa Sphinx. This is a wide ranging species found in much of Eastern North America, Central America and the West Indies.  There are additional similar looking species in the same genus that are found in Panama.  If you are interested in learning more about Tersa Sphinx Moths, head over to our main articles on Tersa Sphinx Moths or on Tersa Sphinx Moth Caterpillars.
