On a warm sunny day on Bull Island, Dublin, Ireland many of these ? were about – very few other species around, a few common blue butterflies and browns.

Six Spot Burnet Moths

Hi Mairead,
Though they are diurnal, these Six Spot Burnets, Zygaena filipendulae, are moths.  We identified them on the UK Moths website.
