This appears to be an immature Fly, possibly a Leatherjacket, the larva of a Crane Fly.
Ed. Note: We received a comment that this is a Darkling Beetle larva. Here is a somewhat similar looking image from FLickR.
It’s a larva of Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera), not Diptera
Thanks for this information. Can you indicate any diagnostic features or provide a link with an image?
It has legs, a hard exoskeleton and a distinct head, not a dipteran. I can’t help with the family.
