Found this on the porch. Was hiding in the space between the planks that make up the wooden table top. Between 1 and 2 inch long.

Dear Gery,
This is NOT a Cockroach.  It is a Longicorn beetle in the family Cerambycidae, and we found a good match in an image of Stromatium unicolor posted to Israel’s Nature Site (scroll down).  We found the species listed on BugGuide, a North American site, where the common name is given as Casaurina Stem Borer and this information is provided:  “native to Europe, adventive in NA & elsewhere in the New World.”  Continued searching led us to Cerambycidae which lists the synomym
Stromatium auratum and provides the range as “whole Mediterranean region, Iran, Crimea, Caucasus, Transcaucasia.”
