Beetle or Stinkbug?

This is a beetle about 3/8 of an inch.  We live on a Ponderosa Pine forest outside Helena MT.  Since it warmed up we are finding these beetles in our house.  We bring in firewood daily, so that is probably how they get in.  What are these, and how do we get rid of them?

Hi Dennis,

This isn’t actually a beetle. It’s a stink bug. During winter, they like to shelter in man-made structures, sometimes in our homes where it’s warm. The best thing to keep them out is to seal up any entryways and perhaps spray an insect barrier around the home to keep any intruders out. (I don’t think that includes human intruders, sorry!)
