Palo Verde Root Borer

Dear Michael,
The Palo Verde Root Borer,
Derobrachus hovorei, is a large Prionid found in the American southwest.  According to BugGuide:  “Larvae feed on roots of living trees: Populus, Quercus, Prosopis, Ulmus, Parkinsonia, Morus, Citrus, Vitis (Hovore et al. 1987)” and “attracted to lights.”

Thank you. That was what I was thinking. Love this site.
