I found three of these tiny critters crawling around on my floor today.
I am in Baltimore, Maryland. Never seen anything like them before, but three at once seemed like a potential problem. Thoughts?

Dear Paul,
The most common way for Giant Conifer Aphids to enter the home is on the live Christmas Tree.

  1. Linda says:

This bug may be an aphid. But I think it is bigger than the picture. It is at least 1/2″ long, 1/4″ wide, has 6 legs. The back legs are the longest, the 2 sets of upper front legs shorter. Also has a head and feelers. Tan in color. I’ve been finding them in our living room. We do have African Violets in the living room. Found one in our bedroom, but I believe it may have arrived there on my pants or slippers. I simply flush them down the toilet. They are easy to catch, and seem to fly/spurt up onto the furniture, etc. I live in Somers, CT
