Hi There Bugman!
I came across this creepy looking bug that’s guarding my doorway…. So what better to do than take a photo.
I’ve never seen anything like it!

Common Assassin Bug

Dear Clare,
This is a predatory Assassin Bug in the family Reduviidae, and considering that the Brisbane Insect site identifies Pristhesancus plagipennis as the Common Assassin Bug, we presume it is not a rare insect.
