Please help me ID this bug! Is it a carpet beetle larvae? But it looks like he doesn’t have enough legs?
I have found three of these so far – each time on the bath mat. He is tiny – about a quarter of an inch not including tail or antenea (and this is the biggest one I have seen, the others were smaller). He is very very fast.

Dear Creeped Out,
This is a Silverfish, a common, cosmopolitan, household pest that will infest books, eating the glue binding, or eat the wallpaper glue off the wall.  They will also eat many other organic items in the home.

Thank you! I don’t suppose they could cause any kind of skin allergy… I have a few mystery bites but can’t find any evidence of bed bugs. Was hoping this was a carpet beetle!

We don’t think the chances are very great that the Silverfish and your bites are connected.
