Imperial Moth Caterpillar

Imperial Moth Caterpillar

Hi Trevis,
Autumn is the time that caterpillars have attained their maximum growth and they leave the trees and plants that they have been feeding upon to find a place to pupate, making them much more visible.  This is the caterpillar of an Imperial Moth,
Eacles imperialis.  Adult Imperial Moths are yellow and purple in coloration.
