To whom it may concern;
I am very curious as to what kind of spider we had on our tent while we were camping at Arches National Park in Utah.

Jumping Spider

Hi Cindy,
This is a Jumping Spider in the genus
Phidippus, and we believe we have come up with a pretty good visual match to Phidippus carneus based on this photo posted to BugGuide.  Jumping Spiders are harmless spiders with excellent eyesight.  They stalk and pounce upon their prey rather than building a web to snare their prey.
