I came across this thing in my bathroom in Israel and cannot identify it, I’m wondering what it is. It’s July now.

Green Lacewing

Hi Jay,
Green Lacewings like the individual in your photograph are found in many parts of the world and they look very similar.  Both larvae and adults are important predators that consume vast quantities of Aphids and other small insects that are agricultural pests.

I use to see them here in Brazil, but without the yellow stripe.

I took a photo of one in my bathroom in early fall, 2014, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA

  3. I took a close-up photograph of a Green Lacewing eye in 2013. Embedded in each lacewing eye are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Stars of David. How appropriate that the first lacewing you ever saw was in Israel!

There’s one crawling on house window outside. It’s below freezing in Jan. in Lake Tahoe, CA.
Hope it survives, I understand they eat aphids.
