Hi Christina,
The last image we received of a Banded Alder Borer was not of the greatest resolution, and we are very happy that you have supplied us with a recent high quality image.
What's That Bug? does not endorse extermination

What is this? Bit my friend and we are worried.
The Banded Alder Borer is a Longhorned Borer Beetle in the family Cerambycidae. The strong jaws are used by the adult to chew their way to the surface of the wood they fed in as a larva. They are not poisonous, however, the bite of some Longhorn species can be quite painful.
