Painted Bugs

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for the compliment.  Your Painted Bugs are not beetles, but Stink Bugs in the family Pentatomidae.  As we just mentioned, we predict they are going to become one of the most problematic invasive exotic species to proliferate in California in decades.  This aggregation on the side of a building is a new habitat of the Painted Bugs for us.  This marks the first time we have seen images of them not feeding on plants in the cabbage family.
