I found this beautiful spider weaving a very intricate web outside my chicken house. I think it is a golden orb weaver, but would love clarification…

We have one directly outside our guest room window! She caught a Katydid the same size as herself the other day.
Posted 16 Sep 2011 at 9:40 am ¶The coolest thing she does though is wobble her whole web back and forth quickly when someone gets close to her web. Not sure if it is meant to confuse or threaten or frighten potential predators, but it is cool.
