Could you please identify this bug that has demolished my vegetable garden in plague proportion, I live on the sunshine coast in Queensland Australia. REGARDS

We tried to locate the species of your Leaf Beetle, but could not positively identify it. It is in the Family Chrysomelidae.

Hi,
I am writing in response to one of the id requests you received 12/06/2006 from Wayne on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The little red and yellow beetles demolishing his vegie garden are Red-shouldered Leaf Beetles – Monolepta australis. They are very common in these parts and obviously have good appetites.
