Longhorn BeetlesMystery Beetle Las Vegas Found this last July in Las Vegas. It ran right into my face and about scared me to death. He was walking when I took the pic, and I tried to use my free hand as reference for you. He was actually pretty nice and he flew away shortly after.

This is one of the Prionid Root Borers in the genus Derobrachus, probably Derobrachus geminatus, the Palo Verde Root Borer.
