Dobsonflies and FishfliesThanks for posting a site that allowed me to identify this beautiful creature! I thought you’d like the photo as it is pretty nice. I’ve seen these all my life growing up in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, but never knew what they were called (everyone else calls them ‘stone flies’) I also saw my first sun spider that same night. I think that is what it is, anyhow. It confused me with the appearance of having ten legs!
